Shepherds Patch is a charming detached thatched cottage situated in the heart of the quaint village of Thurlestone. The property has recently been refurbished and now benefits from light and spacious rooms all of which are beautifully presented. The Blue Flag sandy beach and spectacular coastline of the South Devon coast are approximately half a mile away.

On entering the property through the thatched entrance porch, you are welcomed by a large hall featuring country style decoration, off of which one can access the ground floor rooms. The beamed lounge benefits from a feature fireplace with electric fire, leather sofas, TV, DVD and a range of antique furniture. The conservatory can be accessed through  double doors and overlooks the garden and patio area. The spacious rustic cottage-style kitchen incorporates an Island unit and is well equipped with modern facilities including a washer dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and range cooker. The dual aspect dining room can be accessed off the hall and also from the kitchen, and incorporates a large oak dining table with seating for 10, and a complimentary range of traditional furniture. The ground floor also features a cloakroom.

Wooden stairs lead to the first floor landing, off of which there are three double bedrooms with en-suites. Two of the bedrooms have four poster beds and all benefit from a range of antique furniture and super views over the garden. The en-suites have either a bath or shower - including one with a jacuzzi bath.

The second floor incorporates 2 twin bedded rooms which have been delightfully furnished in a traditional design. They both share a bathroom, with bath.

Outside, the enclosed garden enjoys secluded privacy and has been well stocked with a variety of plants and shrubs. There is also a small lawned area, a patio with furniture for dining alfresco. To the side of the property, there is the benefit of a parking space.

Well behaved pets welcome, for an additional £15 each a week. Additional parking available nearby in the village.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES

The famous coastal village of Thurlestone is renowned for its abundance of thatched pink and cream-washed cottages, its 13th Century church, the village shop and the traditional local inn. Backed by rolling farmland and a sprawling cliff top golf course, the village is ideally situated for those wanting to explore the locality, especially with the benefit of the South Devon Heritage path which runs through Thurlestone.

There are two main beaches at Thurlestone. The smaller of these, Thurlestone Sands, is near to The Thurlestone golf club and at the Southern end of the beach, you can explore the rock pools around the spectacular arched rock to which the village owes its name. The larger beach is further along the coast in the direction of South Milton. Both have fine shingle and sand coverings and are in sheltered locations. Surfing, windsurfing and canoeing are all popular activities at the beach and, during the summer months, a range of sports equipment can be hired. There are many other beaches to explore along this beautiful coastline, including Hope Cove, Bigbury and Bantham.

Nearby attractions include Salcombe, (famous for sailing), Agatha Christie's Burgh Island, historical market towns of Totnes and Modbury, Dartmouth, Dittisham and Dartmoor.

For those wanting some culture, there are many art galleries and exhibitions, craft markets, open air theatre and amateur theatrical shows and live music in the locality.
