Terms and conditions

These booking conditions contain important information and set out contractual terms and conditions, which apply to the booking you make with Mrs P.A.Bigwood. These booking conditions include some exclusions and limitations of liability and it is therefore important that you read them carefully.

Property Description

We take every care to ensure the accuracy of the information we give you. All information is given in good faith and is believed to be correct at the time of the booking.

All distances stated are approximate. Occasionally, a ‘force majeure’ or problem outside our control may arise which may mean that some of the facilities or services become unavailable. If this situation should arise, we will contact you as soon as is reasonably practical. It is also the responsibility of the Hirer to make any specific requirements/needs known at the time of booking and to ensure that the holiday property selected is suitable for their own needs.

Please note we do not supply, cots, high chairs or stair gates.

Some of the property photos are taken with a wide angled lens.

The prices and booking conditions on our website supersede any published on advertising sites.

Hirers Obligation

  • To give the names of all of the members of the party staying in the property.
  • To pay for any damage caused, excluding any reasonable wear and tear.
  • To take good care of the property and leave it in a clean and tidy condition. If the property is left excessively dirty or untidy, a £30 cleaning surcharge will be payable within 7 days of departure.
  • Not to allow the property to be occupied by more than the maximum number of persons stated in the property details.
  • Where pets are included, the Hirer will pay the appropriate pet fee and will reimburse the owner for any costs, damage and any other losses incurred as a result of the pet’s stay. All properties have a strict ‘No Smoking’ policy.
  • Mrs Bigwood and/or her Representative are allowed reasonable access to the property and its garden at all times and in the case of an emergency where they may enter without prior notice.
  • To pay for all telephone charges where levied during this hire period. Guests have free use of our Wi Fi signal.

Party Booking

The person booking the holiday will be known as the Head of the Party, they will be responsible for all members of the party and will ensure that they are fully aware and comply with these booking conditions. If the conditions are not met with, Mrs Bigwood can refuse right of entry, and in this situation, no monies will be refunded.

Bookings will not be accepted from persons less than 25 years of age or from all male or female parties without specific agreement. Bookings are usually non-transferable and any changes to guests must be agreed by the owner in advance.

The number of persons (not including infants sleeping in a travel cot) occupying the property must never exceed the number stated in the property description, unless otherwise agreed by the owner in advance by writing.

Payment

Once a booking is confirmed, the Hirer is responsible for the total cost of the holiday shown on the invoice. A deposit of a third of the full amount is required to confirm the booking and the balance is due to be paid 5 weeks prior to the start of the holiday. If a booking is made less than 6 weeks before arrival, the full cost of the holiday is due. We do accept payment by cheque, over the phone with most credit and debit cards or using our online booking system. Due to PCI Compliance regulations we DO NOT keep personal card information on file. Any payments made include VAT.

Insurance

We recommend that you take out enough travel insurance to cover you for the full cost of your holiday.

Contract

If for any reason it proves necessary for us to make a change in your holiday booking by reason of the unexpected withdrawal of the property by the owner, or by reason of overbooking, or for some other reason, we will endeavour to make an alternative booking, or failing this we will refund to you any monies paid by you. Nevertheless, we shall be under no further obligation or liability in this respect.

Cancellation by You

If you wish to cancel your holiday, you should notify us in writing immediately. In the event of your cancelling, we will endeavour to re let the property, however, you should note that you will be liable for payment of the full amount shown, although we will give you credit for any rents received as a result of re-letting less the expenses we have incurred in doing so. .

Disabilities and Medical Issues

If any member of the party is disabled or has a medical problem that may affect the booking in any way, please tell us before you confirm the booking. If Mrs Bigwood reasonably feels unable to properly accommodate the special needs of the person concerned we reserve the right to decline or cancel the reservation.

Pets

Dogs are only permitted at properties with the owner’s prior consent. Other domestic pets e.g. cats, are not accepted in any of our cottages.

There is a charge for dogs and the price is £50, per pet, per week (or per stay, if less than a week). Dogs must never be left in the property unattended, and are not allowed on the furniture or beds. Dogs must not be allowed to annoy neighbours e.g. continual barking. It is the Hirers responsibility to clean up the garden behind their pet. If you decide to bring a dog at the last minute, you will need to pay the charge prior to the commencement of your stay.

Liability

The owner and Prestige Holiday Cottages will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the property of the Hirer or any member of his/her party (including pets, vehicles, and contents) other than if this arises from our negligence or default of our employees and or representative.

The owner and Prestige Holiday Cottages cannot be held responsible for (and cannot accept liability for) issues outside their reasonable control such as breakdown of domestic appliances, plumbing, electrical problems, non-working Wi-Fi, invasion of pests or damage caused by exceptional weather conditions, or by noise and disturbance resulting from nearby building works, noisy neighbours or local events.

Our maximum liability to you, if we are found to be at fault in relation to any service we provide, is limited to the cost of your holiday rental in relation to the booking in question.

Complaints

All complaints must be notified to the Owner or her Representative as soon as possible and we must be given the chance to rectify the situation. You can contact us on 01959 569096 (please leave a message if the office is unattended) or the emergency Mobile number 07591 040054.

Failure to notify us at the earliest opportunity may hamper our investigations and delay may reduce or extinguish any claim you have. In any event, you should notify us in writing within 7 days of the end of your holiday.

Arrival & Departure

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, please note that now all properties hired must be vacated by 09.00 hrs in the morning of departure and due to requirements for cleaning and replacing bed linen etc. are not available for occupation before 17.00 hrs on the day of arrival. The relevant housekeeper will contact you if it is possible to offer you an earlier access.

Agreement

These conditions shall be deemed to have been accepted by you, at the time when you complete the booking form and make part or full payment.
